Building upon pay plans implemented by the board in my first term, I am committed to:

  • Continuing to address benefit concerns

  • Offering additional stipends for hard-to-fill positions

  • Addressing student behavior issues

  • Continuously listening to expressed concerns

Long-Term Planning:

I am dedicated to addressing substantial and sustained growth and the challenges it brings, focusing on:

  • Proactive versus reactive approach to land searches to save the taxpayers of Wilson County money

  • Evaluating transportation needs and placing orders well in advance of the fulfillment time (buses)

  • Continued line item evaluation of the budget to identify funds that can be reallocated to increasing pay/stipends, ensuring competitive wages for hard-to-fill positions

  • Working to offer and support multiple paths to readiness (trade, college, job market)

  • Advocating with legislators on realistic ways to address teacher shortage

  • Continued work on our maintenance plan and project plan, each implemented under this Director and the boards I served on.
